Proximity to Christ

To truly see how far we are from Christ, we must first remove the blinders that de-sensitization to sin has placed on us.

Do you think you are a good person?

When we compare ourselves to other, we often see ourselves as pretty good people. I may have done this, but I have never done that…

However, the Bible says that we were conceived in sin (KJV, Ps. 51:5). This was David highlighting just how sinful we as humans are.

When we stand before the Lord on judgment day, we will answer for our own sin. Not how our sin compares to others.

I guess the point I am trying to make is,

Every unconfessed sin that we have in our lives, causes separation from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As Christian, we become comfortable or content with our mundane lives.

We pay our tythes, read our Bibles, go to church, and feel great because we happened to share the Gospel with someone last week.

We tend to forget, that every second of every day, there is a spiritual war raging all around us.

Who are we fighting?

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (KJV, Eph 6:12).”

Once we reach the point where we recognize our sin for the wickedness that it is, we can begin to relinquish the control of our lives to One who will know how to use it for His honor and glory.

We must give lordship of our lives to Him on an every day, every moment of the day, bases.

Relinquish Lordship.

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace
(Num. 6:24-26).
